Karen Bassetti
Licensed Clinical Social Worker | Consultant to Gateway HorseWorks

Karen Bassetti is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who recently returned to her home state of Pennsylvania, after living in the South for many years. She was most recently working in the University of Kentucky’s Department of OB/GYN in women’s care. There she served pregnant and postpartum women struggling with addiction, trauma, psychosocial issues and mental health diagnoses. Prior to that she worked at an inpatient unit with adolescent girls. Karen also has a private counseling practice for women, and is working on earning her Certification in Perinatal Mental Health. Karen earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling from Marymount University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from East Carolina University. Riding horses since she was eight years old, Karen knows first-hand the power of healing offered by our four legged friends and their natural surroundings. She feels the opportunity to work for Gateway Horseworks is a true melding of her two greatest passions: caring for horses and helping others.
