About Gateway HorseWorks
Since 2011, Executive Director Kristen de Marco has been providing EAGALA Model ® Equine Assisted Growth & Learning services to children, adults, families, school districts, and corporate teams. She witnessed time & again how working with horses was helping people overcome a multitude of challenges and reach diversified goals in their lives, families, and workplace. For many, Equine Assisted Psychotherapy was a last resort in a long list of attempts at wellness, stability, and mental health.

As recognition of this cutting edge, experiential therapy continued to grow, and was recognized in the mental health community for its strong outcomes and growing body of peer-reviewed research, more and more parents, individuals, professionals, organizations, and institutions were seeking out these unique services. Kristen became aware of this demand, and knew she needed to form a nonprofit organization ensuring all people in the community could access Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. In the Summer of 2015, Kristen, along with the Board of Directors, founded Gateway HorseWorks.
