Gateway HorseWorks is seeking to fill a unique, part-time Barn Associate position, with opportunities for growth within the organization, with the following qualifications:
A proven history of working with horses:
- Ability to execute the daily care and general wellbeing of the herd including:
- Monitor care & wellbeing of horses
- Turn out/bring in horses and feed
- Clean stalls
- Clean water troughs
- Throw down hay/straw and stack
- Pick feet
- Change blankets when necessary
- Monitor care & wellbeing of horses
- Partner with the Barn Manager to oversee supply needs for barn & farm
- Work with volunteers to clean the barn
- Assist the Executive Director with special projects
- Due to the nature of our services, all applicants must have an ability to pass background checks and provide county mandated clearances.
- The ability to complete work efficiently and timely in an organized manner
- Ability to react quickly and problem solve issues
- Maintain client confidentiality
- High rate of task completion in both efficiency and quality
- Superior communication skills
- Ability to multitask
Availability & Compensation:
- This position requires 20-25 hours per week and work on weekends
- Compensation commensurate with experience
