Joel Vivian is a graduate of Drexel University, where he concentrated in finance. He has had a distinguished 30-year career in finance. Most recently, he led U.S. Operations for SEI Investments’ Institutional business. His group was responsible for client portfolio trading and account administrative functions for accounts totaling more than $80 billion in assets under management. Throughout his 20 years at SEI, Joel held various leadership positions, including Client Service Director and Director of Global Middle Office, based in the company’s London office.
Prior to his tenure at SEI, Joel worked at H&R Block Financial Advisors (acquired by Ameriprise) as a Financial Advisor. Throughout his career, Joel has regularly used his position of influence to give back to the community as well as his colleagues. He was a founding board member of SEI Diversity, an affinity group dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion within the company. He was also an active board member of SEI Cares, the company’s employee-run philanthropic organization, where he served as Chair of the Grantmaking Committee and Executive Secretary of the Board. Joel was also an executive coach in SEI’s Employee Coaching Consortium, mentoring selected employees to enhance their growth, retention, and job satisfaction. In addition, Joel was a corporate first aid responder and a member of SEI’s mental health support team.
Beyond his philanthropic work with SEI, Joel serves on the boards of not-for-profit Baker Industries and Gwynedd Mercy Academy Elementary School. He also continues to engage in executive coaching with a roster of high-potential professionals. Outside of his professional life, Joel is an avid pickleball player and motorcyclist.
